Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto said the government would implement a zero trust model in the development and use of the National Data Center (PDN) to prevent future cyber attacks.

Zero trust in question is to assume that all devices, users, and systems related to PDN are considered untrustworthy until they are proven safe.

"This is implemented through strict access control and layered authentication," said Hadi during a working meeting with Commission I of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Antara, Monday, September 23.

In addition, according to him, security monitoring on the PDN system will later be based on artificial intelligence (AI).

According to him, AI is integrated into the PDN network monitoring system to detect cybersecurity in real time.

The technology can detect suspicious anomalies or activity that could potentially become an attack early. He said the government would also tighten policies on data access.

He said that tightening efforts were made to reduce the risk of an "insider threat". Later, he said, every access to vital data must go through a validation process.

In addition, he does not deny that improving the quality and capability of human resources (HR). is important in building and managing PDN. Therefore, he said the government continues to collaborate with universities to improve the ability of human resources.

"We do realize that there are big challenges, that the development of this very fast cyber technology often makes regulations lagging behind. Policies and security must always be updated," said the former TNI Commander.
