JAKARTA - The Special Committee for Hajj Implementation held a Public Hearing Meeting (RDPU) and at the same time planned a recall of the Minister of Religion (Menag), Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.

Member of the House of Representatives' Hajj Special Committee, Wisnu Wijaya, said that the summons was discussed in an internal special committee meeting held today, namely Monday, September 23 at the DPR/MPR RI Jakarta Building.

"Today it was discussed internally by the special committee," said Wisnu Wijaya when confirmed by ANTARA Monday morning.

This summons plan is related to the polemic of the implementation of the Hajj that will occur in 2024. He also considered that his party deeply regretted the response of the Minister of Religion who did not heed the good faith of the DPR's Hajj budget committee to ask for clarification regarding the alleged deviation of the hajj quota some time ago.

"In principle, the special committee puts forward the principle of presumption of innocence, so that the opportunity given by the special committee should be used properly by the Minister of Religion to straighten out various allegations of irregularities related to the transfer of additional hajj quotas, if the person concerned has such belief," he said.

Later, if the Minister of Religion attends the RDPU activity organized by the Hajj Special Committee, his party wants to investigate the allegations regarding the transfer of the additional quota which is the polemic that is currently happening.

"We want to confirm who took the initiative to divide the additional quota into 50:50. Whether it was on the Minister of Religion's personal initiative, with the knowledge of the Minister of Religion but the initiative was carried out by his subordinates, or carried out by the Minister of Religion's subordinates outside the knowledge of the Minister of Religion. These points are what we want to explore," he said.

Previously, the Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, denied that he was absent from attending the 2024 DPR RI Special Committee Meeting (Pansus) because he felt he had not received a summons.

So he did not know the reasons related to the emergence of statements that he was absent twice from the Hajj Anggat Special Committee agenda. He also wanted to know the truth about the summons.

"Until I came to meet these friends, I have never received the summons. It can be checked at the secretariat, the secretary general of the DPR, it can be checked," said Yaqut last week.

Hajj implementation in 2024 is considered to have several negative notes, one of which is that there are 3,503 special Hajj candidates without a waiting period or 0 years departing in the 2024 Hajj season.
