8 People Injured As A Result Of A Truck Accident On Jalan Menurun Gombel Lama Semarang

Eight people were injured after a pickup truck had a downhill road accident, Gombel Lama, Semarang City, Central Java, which was suspected to be due to a problematic brake.

The Head of Traffic Accident Unit of the Semarang Polrestabes AKP Adji said the injured were a number of people who were transported in trucks and motorbike riders.

"The truck carrying several people then hit a motorcyclist riding a motorbike," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 20.

The incident began when the truck drove from the south on the road with the contour dropping.

The truck allegedly had a problem with the brakes before finally hitting the motorcyclist who was driving in front of him and stopped by the side of the road.

"Eight people have been injured and have been rushed to Banyumanik Hospital for treatment," he said.

Officers who received the report of the incident were already at the scene to conduct a crime scene investigation and evacuate victims and vehicles involved in the accident.

Traffic flow from the direction of Ungaran, Semarang Regency to the center of Semarang City had stalled due to the unfortunate incident.
