PADANG - Indra Septiarman alias IS (26) has admitted to having killed and raped Nia Kurnia Sari (18), a teenager selling fried food from 2x11 Kayu Tanam District. This confession was conveyed after the police conducted an examination of IS.

IS was arrested after being on the run for 12 days. He was found hiding in an empty house in the Padang Kabau area, Nagari Guguak, 2x11 Kayu Tanam District.

"The provisional confession shows that the suspect did murder and rape Nia Kurnia Sari. Currently, we are still investigating the possibility of other perpetrators," said Padang Pariaman Police Chief AKBP Faisol Amir in a press statement at the Padang Pariaman Police Headquarters, Thursday night.

The police are also investigating the possible involvement of other perpetrators. "We are still investigating the potential of other perpetrators because the suspect's confession has changed," added Faisol.

Previously, the Padang Pariaman District Police, West Sumatra, managed to arrest Indra Septiarman after 12 days after the discovery of the body of Nia Kurnia Sari buried in a resident's plantation on Sunday. The arrests were made by a joint team from the West Sumatra Police and Padang Pariaman Police in an empty house in Nagari Guguak.

Indra was arrested at 15.00 WIB while hiding in the attic of the house. The video of IS's arrest circulating on social media shows IS wearing only shirtless shorts. Police were forced to break into the attic ceiling to pull IS out. Several residents were seen at the scene.

Angry residents even pulled IS pants when they were lowered from the attic, almost causing IS to be naked. Residents were also seen hitting IS before being secured by the police. The police even had to fire warning shots.

When taken to the car, IS also almost got angry by residents. Several residents were seen shouting at IS and trying to surround and approach the car carrying IS. The police then took IS to the Padang Pariaman Police.
