BADUNG - The Indonesian government in the Bali International Airshow (BIAS) 2024 launched an action plan for the development of environmentally friendly avturs or Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF).
"With pride in today's event we are witnessing the launch of Indonesia's development action plan for sustainable efficient fuel, this is part of Indonesia's commitment to achieve net zero emissions," said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menkomarves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Wednesday, September 18.
Luhut said that after this, he would hold a meeting to form a roadmap for the implementation of SAF by digging potential resources.
The potential resources referred to by Luhut come from coconut oil, seaweed, and rice grounds which so far are considered to be a source for SAF.
"Yes, we will see later, we will close it immediately to make this road map, because now we are not just monomons, we will immediately see the execution, for example, like this friendly material for aviation," he said.
The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries will also ask Pertamina to collaborate with several airlines for further studies on the use of these resources.
"With our current economy being seen as very promising with downstreaming, digitization, electronic catalogs, and many of our mineral sources, they see Indonesia as the center," he said.
In the Bali International Airshow 2024, the government emphasized that this is a form of Indonesia's seriousness to safeguard the future.
