700 Damaged Houses Affected By The Bandung Earthquake

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Java (West Java) recorded that 700 housing units were damaged after an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 hit the Bandung Regency area.

"As of 14.00 WIB, the total number of affected houses is 700 units," said West Java BPBD Expert Public Relations Officer Hadi Rahmat, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 18. Hadi revealed, until now the West Java BPBD is still identifying the level of damage and data collection of other impacts after the earthquake.

Of these, the most damage occurred in Bandung Regency as many as 491 housing units and Garut Regency 209 housing units.

"In the affected houses, West Java BPBD is still waiting for information from BPBD at the district level to determine the extent of the damage," he said.

After the effort was completed, the West Java Province BPBD together with the district BPBD immediately repaired public facilities, cleaned up material impacts from the earthquake, and repaired residents' houses.

In addition to residences or houses, the earthquake that occurred today also damaged public facilities, such as places of worship, schools, offices, and health facilities or hospitals.

Meanwhile, BPBD recorded 82 injured. Those who were injured were identified in Bandung Regency with 81 people and one resident of Garut Regency.

With details 59 residents suffered minor injuries and 23 people were seriously injured. So far, there have been no reports of casualties from the 5.0 magnitude earthquake," he said
