Tourists Found Dead As A Result Of Being Dragged By Waves On Cipatuguran Beach, Sukabumi

SUKABUMI - A missing tourist who was swept away by the waves at Cipatuguran Beach, Palabuhanratu District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, was found dead on Wednesday, September 18 morning.

After being found, the body was immediately evacuated by the joint SAR team and taken to the hospital for examination. The condition of the body is intact and has not been damaged.

Two days earlier, Lang Lang Buana (17) was declared missing while swimming with 15 of his school friends. The victim was dragged by the big waves, while 14 of his friends managed to save themselves.

The coordinator of the Sukabumi Basarnas SAR post, Suryo Adianto, stated that the victim was found floating by a barge crew in the waters of Cipatuguran.

"The victim was found about 200 miles from the scene, and has been evacuated to the Palabuhanratu Hospital," said Suryo.

Currently, the victim's body has been taken to the Palabuhanratu Regional General Hospital (RSUD), and will be handed over to the family.

Previously, one tourist was reported missing by the waves on Cipatuguran Beach on Monday, September 16, 2024 at noon. The victim, Lang Lang Buana (17) is a resident of Kadupugur Village, Kadudampit District who came to Palabuhanratu Beach with 15 of his school friends to fill the long holiday.
