Featured Travel Canceled, KCIC Checks Line After Bandung Earthquake

BANDUNG - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) immediately carried out a thorough inspection of the telephone line after an earthquake measuring 5.0 magnitude rocked the Bandung Regency area.

"According to the safety and security SOP, KCIC immediately conducts an inspection using a maintenance train," Eva said in a written statement, Wednesday, September 18.

Eva stated that this step was taken to ensure that the fast train line remained safe and did not experience structural damage due to the earthquake.

"A thorough examination takes about four hours to ensure there are no external factors that can disrupt high-speed trains, such as landslides on the right and left of the route, landslides, or other natural impacts," he said.

KCIC was forced to cancel a number of train schedules from Tegalluar Station, Bandung Regency, and HalimJakarta to ensure the safety and security of passengers.

"PT KCIC apologizes for the cancellation of a number of short train trips as a result of the earthquake that occurred," he said.

Eva ensured that people who had purchased tickets and were affected by the cancellation of the schedule could carry out the cancellation process with a ticket fee that would be returned 100 percent.

The cancellation process can be carried out at all counters atELAH Halim Station, Padalarang, Tegalluar Summarecon, and the Feeder Train Hall at Bandung Station.

"The cancellation can be done up to three days after the departure schedule, users who are not waiting are advised to continue their journey using another mode and carry out the cancellation process the next day," he said.
