Cases Of Bullying At Binus School Simprug, 4 Times No Mediation Results

JAKARTA - The police held mediation as an effort to resolve the alleged bullying case against RE, a Binus School Simprug student. Of the four findings, none of them resulted in a restorative justice or RJ decision.

"We gave the opportunity to the parties and even the last time we tried again was the fourth meeting to be held by RJ," said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ade Rahmat Idnal at the General Hearing Meeting (RDPU) with Commission III of the DPR, Tuesday, September 17.

The effort to resolve cases by deliberation is what makes it seem as if the handling of the police is slow.

It's just that, from several meetings, there is no concept of resolving cases amicably.

"An effort has been made, yesterday's parties met but there is no meeting point for RJ or deliberation and consensus not to be found," he said.

Meanwhile, in handling criminally, Ade stated that the alleged bullying case had advanced to the investigation stage. Where, in the investigation process, about 18 witnesses have been examined.

Then, some clues or evidence such as CCTV footage have also been pocketed by investigators.

"Regarding the investigation stage, it has been completed, then it will go up to the investigation stage," said Ade.

For information, RE through his attorney reported the alleged bullying case to the South Jakarta Metro Police. The report is registered with the number LP/B/331/I/2024/SPKT POLRES METRO JAKSEL/POLDA METRO JAYA.

In the report, the reported party had the initials KE, R, K, and C. They were all Binus students.
