Hamas Express Ready For Long-Term War With Israel In Gaza

JAKARTA - Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar said he had been preparing to fight with Israel for a long time in Gaza.

Israel's attack on Gaza is known to enter its 12th month soon.

"We have prepared ourselves for war in a tiring war," Sinwar told a newspaper in Yemen, quoted from AFP, Tuesday, September 17.

Sinwar, the successor to Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed last month, said Hamas had the resources to maintain its resistance to Israel, with support from its regional allies Iran.

Earlier, Sinwar in his letter Houthi in Yemen said groups favoring Iran including Lebanon and Iraq would "break enemy political desires" after more than 11 months of war in Gaza.

"Our combined efforts with you [Houthi] and with groups in Lebanon and Iraq will break this enemy and defeat it," Sinwar said last weekend.

Meanwhile, Spain, which recently joined a number of European countries, acknowledged that the Palestinian state is officially scheduled to host Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas on Tuesday, September 17 local time.
