ASN Allowed To Attend The Paslon Campaign Event, But With Conditions

TANGERANG - The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of South Tangerang City allowed the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to attend when the candidate pair campaigned to determine who he would choose. This is also based on Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections, ASN has the right to vote.

"ASNs are allowed to attend the campaign, according to the rules, ASNs are allowed to attend the campaign. Maybe they are afraid that they will exceed their movements," said South Tangerang Bawaslu Chair Muhammad Acep, Friday, September 13.

Acep said that if an ASN was present during the election candidate campaign, he should be a passive participant. He only has a hearing limit.

"What is clear is that there is no movement allowed, just listening to the vision and mission and looking at the candidate pair," he said.

However, if an ASN is proven to have violated neutrality by supporting one of the candidate pairs, then criminal sanctions will be given in accordance with applicable regulations.

"The sanction is one to 6 months in prison, and the fine is Rp. 600 thousand to Rp. 6 million," he said.
