PSSI Partners With Oppo, Erick Asks The National Team To Continue To Maintain Trust

JAKARTA - Chairman of the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Erick Thohir asked the Indonesian national team to continue to maintain trust after PSSI again added cooperation with electronic and cellular company Oppo as the 25th sponsor

"Thank you for the trust from Oppo in PSSI and the national team for trying to penetrate Asia and the world's achievements. We need private support and many brands because it is impossible for all to depend on the government," said Erick Thohir at the signing of a memorandum of understanding between PSSI and Oppo in a written statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.

PSSI and Oppo's collaboration as 25th partners shows the support and trust of sponsors who continue to flow to PSSI and the Indonesian national team and PSSI.

Therefore, he said, this trust must be maintained by continuing to improve the achievements of the national team on the international stage.

Erick said support is very important for the sustainability of the national football transformation and national team programs at all levels to excel at the Asian level.

"This support is very much needed, even though I have received a commitment from President Prabowo Subianto who supports the increase in aid for national football," he said.

He said, to make achievements at the Asian level, especially in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian Zone which is being carried out by coach Shin Tae-yong's team, PSSI requires great support from all parties.

"That's just talking about one national team, even though we have two other national teams, namely U17 and U20 who will compete in the 2025 Asian Cup. Therefore, I appreciate the presence of many brands and private parties, as well as people who always make tickets for the national team sold out to support PSSI's long-term program," said Erick.

With the addition of partners in efforts to transform Indonesian football, he said, PSSI is also required to improve performance to make it more professional, clean and make the industry advanced.

Furthermore, Erick also emphasized that various related parties should not be complacent with the current achievements of football because the challenges faced in building future achievements are also getting bigger.

"After the U-23 national team advanced to the semifinals of the last Asian Cup, we are also proud because U17 and U20 will also go to the Asian Cup finals next year. However, competition will be higher. Don't be complacent, because in 10 years we can be left behind again if today is already feeling satisfied," he said.
