Kediri Regency Government Increases RT RW Allowance To IDR 300 Thousand Per Month

JAKARTA - The Kediri Regency Government in East Java increased allowances for the heads of RT and RW in the district with a nominal value of IDR 300 thousand per month given starting September 2024, up from the previous month of IDR 250 thousand per month.

Kediri Regent Hanindhito Himawan Pramana in Kediri Sunday said the provision of allowances was part of the district government's commitment to award the performance of RT/RW in this district. The district government initially provided a budget of IDR 250 thousand per month and starting in September 2024 it rose to IDR 300 thousand per month.

"Starting this September, IDR 300 thousand without cutting taxes and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan contributions will be borne by the government," he said.

He added that the increase in allowances also reminded the work of RT/RW which is the frontline in the community. RT and RW are expected to pay more attention to residents in their environment and improve their performance.

According to their duties, the positions of RT and RW are to assist villages in the field of government services, including in providing population and licensing data, and carrying out other tasks given by village heads.

Especially in Kediri Regency, out of 26 sub-districts of 343 villages and one sub-district, the total number of RT and RW is 12,149, with details of 9,381 RT and 2,768 RW. The increase in allowances is given in stages.

"This increase is of course gradual, but the work of RT and RW will also be increasingly monitored by residents," he said.

He also reminded about the challenges ahead. With airports, construction of toll roads, stadiums, hospitals, and construction that move quickly in Kediri Regency, of course, will have a positive impact in the future.

He added that there are challenges that will be faced so that cooperation from all parties, including RT and RW.

The Regent also invited discussions to find out the problems that exist in the community to be followed up.

Several proposals submitted by RT and RW related to infrastructure, proposals for renovation of school buildings, including the construction of 3R TPS to avoid dismantling garbage in rivers.

His party also gave appreciation to the Head of RT and RW for the service commitments provided. It can be seen from the proposal submitted by all for the benefit of the community.

"This district is making a big leap, it takes hard work and this requires the participation of RT and RW," said the regent.

Meanwhile, to support the improvement of infrastructure facilities in Kediri Regency, the government allocated a budget of around Rp. 51 billion from the district budget, which was intended for a special financial assistance program (BKK) and distributed to all villages.

The budget is around Rp. 51 billion, each village gets around Rp. 150 million. The budget is prioritized for the development and maintenance of village road infrastructure. With this budget, it is hoped that infrastructure development can be evenly distributed and felt by the community.

The program will also continue for the coming years as a form of the local government's commitment to infrastructure improvement.
