Route Extended, Blambangan Train Passengers Up 43.52 Percent

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded the volume of support for the Blambangan train related to Pasarsenen to Ketapang as many as 57,282 passengers for 37 days for the period 26 July to 31 August 2024.

The volume of passengers increased 43.52 percent after PT KAI extended its Blambangan Express train relationship from the previous Semarang Tawang Bank Jateng-Ketapang PP to Pasarsenen-Ketapang PP since last July 26.

KAI VP Public Relations Anne Purba said the train, which has train facilities in a series of trains consisting of two classes, namely the Executive train and the Economy train, is now the train with the longest route with a distance of 1,031 km.

In addition, said Anne, the extension of the relationship also adds to the public's interest in enjoying the Blambangan Express train service.

"Up 43.52 percent compared to 37 days before the extension of the period from June 14 to July 20 with 39,912 passengers. The average daily volume also increased from 1,097 to 1,548 or 41.11 percent," said Anne in an official statement, Sunday, September 8.

Anne said passenger occupancy in the period from July 26 to August 31 reached 190 percent, an increase of 57 percent compared to the period from June 14 to July 20, which was 133 percent.

Furthermore, Anne said occupancy exceeds 100 percent due to dynamic passengers, namely passengers who descend between the initial station and the final destination station.

Anne also explained that increased comfort had been carried out at the Blambangan Express train facility.

We have improved passenger comfort by providing wider leg rooms, cleaner toilets, comfortable dining trains, and prayer rooms. This will certainly make the long journey by Blambangan Expers train more relaxed and fun," concluded Anne.
