JAKARTA Prevent the rise of online gambling practices, Bank Indonesia (BI) cooperates with the Surakarta City Government to socialize the hashtag for the Joint Movement #SoloAntiJudiOnline.

Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Surakarta Dwiyanto Cahyo Sumirat said the movement was a momentum to strengthen synergies involving all policy makers ranging from local governments, state institutions, law enforcement, and banking.

"In addition, all levels of society are also to continue to campaign for the movement against online gambling which has actually harmed and suffered the community," said Dwiyanto Cahyo Sumirat, ANTARA, Sunday, September 8.

He said that Bank Indonesia, which is a member of the Online Gambling Eradication Task Force, continues to be committed together with the government, agencies, banks, and other parties to campaign for online gambling prevention efforts in the community, especially Solo Raya.

"This commitment is realized in the form of intensive supervision of payment service providers (PJP) under the authority of BI, including the imposition of sanctions if the PJP facilitates online gambling activities," he said.

In addition, he said, BI also promoted various consumer protection education programs to the public so that they could avoid online gambling.

On the same occasion, the Mayor of Surakarta, Teguh Prakosa, appreciated the collaboration.

He hopes that the future synergy will be more massive so that the eradication of online gambling practices in the future will be more optimal.

"Hopefully the movement, which started from Surakarta City, will be able to become a torch to sprinkle enthusiasm for other regions in fighting disturbing online gambling," he said.
