The Body Of Bakal Cawagub Aceh Tu Sop Will Be Buried In Jeunib Bireuen

JAKARTA - The body of the Acehnese cleric who will also be a candidate for Deputy Governor of Aceh Tgk Muhammad Yusuf A Wahab or familiarly called Tu Sop is scheduled to arrive in Tanah Rencong Aceh from Jakarta on Saturday, September 7 afternoon boarding a Garuda Indonesia plane.

Tu Sop's closest relative who is also a spokesman for the Civil Elements, Zulfikar Muhammad, when contacted from Banda Aceh, Saturday, said that as soon as the body arrived at Soekarno - Hatta (Soeta) International Airport from the hospital, the plane immediately departed for Aceh.

"Because there has been a booking plane, so if the body has not arrived at the airport (Soeta), it will be delayed first. The prediction is around 18.00 WIB arriving in Aceh," said Zulfikar as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 7.

According to Zulfikar, as soon as the bodies arrived at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport (SIM) Aceh Besar, they were immediately dispatched to Tu Sop's hometown, Jeunieb, Bireuen, for burial.

"There is also information that he wants to be taken to the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque first, there is a request from the Aceh Government, but it is not certain, we will see how the Aceh Government prepares it," he said.

As previously reported, Tgk Muhammad Yusuf A Wahab or Tu Sop died at Brawijaya Hospital, Tebet, Jakarta on Saturday morning.

"It's true, Sop's father died in Jakarta at 09.00 WIB at approximately," said Zulfikar.

Before he died, some time ago the leader of Dayah Babussalam Al Aziziyah Jeunib, Bireuen Regency had undergone treatment at the Zainoel Abidin Hospital, Banda Aceh.

"(Tu Sop) will be buried in Jeunib, Bireuen," said Zulfikar.

Tu Sop is also registered as deputy governor candidate for Aceh paired with candidate for governor of Aceh Bustami Hamzah. They officially registered with the Aceh Independent Election Commission (KIP) as contestants for the 2024 Aceh Governor Election on Thursday, August 29.

Tu Sop is also known to have served as Chairman of the Dayah Aceh Ulama Association (HUDA) for the 2018-2023 period, an organization that oversees clerics led by Dayah Salafiyah in Aceh.

Tu Sop was born in Blang Me Barat Village, Jeunieb District, Bireuen in 1964 from the couple Tgk H Abdul Wahab bin Hasballah and Hj Zainab bint Muhammad Shaleh.
