Update On COVID-19 As Of March 29: 5.008 New Cases , Recovered Cases Increasing To 5.418

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 46.933 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5.418 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1.501.093 people and 123.694 active cases", quoted from the Ministry of Health as saying, Monday, March 29.

Recovered cases today increased by 5.414 cases so that a total of 1.336.818 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 132 people and a total of 40.581 people.

The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 1.610 cases and a total of 248.396 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 1.014 new cases with a total of 380.706 cases. Central Java has 388 new cases and a total of 167.664 cases. Then, Banten has 328 new cases and a total of 36.490 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 1.379 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1.008 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 896 recovered cases, and East Kalimantan with an additional 300 recovered cases.

There are two provinces that reported no new cases as of today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were West Kalimantan and Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 12.558.963.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate was 18.83 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 59.473 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, there are 7.394.421 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 3.313.494 of the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40.349.051 people.
