Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto said the Susi Air pilot, Philip Mark Mehrtens, had been handed over to the Ambassador (Ambassador) of New Zealand to Indonesia. The handover was made after Philip Mark Mehrtens was confirmed his health condition after being released from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

"Earlier, recently, I represented the Indonesian government, which officially handed over Captain Pilot Philip Martin to the New Zealand Government represented by the New Zealand Ambassador in Jakarta, namely Mr. Kevin," Hadi told reporters, Saturday, September 21.

Not to forget, Hadi also appreciated the TNI-Polri, religious leaders, and related parties involved in the effort to release Philip Mark Mehrtens for 1.5 years. This is because the negotiation process with the soft approach is not an easy matter.

"Of course, various parties have helped in the hostage release process, namely Captain Philip Martin," he said.

"This release process is the result of our hard work together and we should be grateful that we have handed over Captain Philip's pilot to the New Zealand Ambassador," continued Hadi.

For information, Captain Philip Mark Mehrtens has been held hostage by the KKB led by Egianus Kogoya since February 7, 2023. Various efforts have been made to release him.

Until finally, Captain Philip Mark Mehrtens was released on Saturday, September 21. The release was after the Cartenz 2024 Peace Task Force negotiated with the KKB.
