Israeli Military Operations In West Bank Kill 3 People Including Palestinian Teenage Girls

JAKARTA - Israeli forces killed three people including a 16-year-old Palestinian girl in the West Bank.

A young girl identified as Lujain Osama Musleh, was killed in the city of Kafr Dan, just outside Jenin, where Israeli forces have been operating for days.

The Israeli military provided immediate details about the incident but said it was investigating the report.

Two Palestinians were also killed in the city of Tulkarm, the Palestinian health ministry said.

Reported by Reuters, Tuesday, September 3, Hamas and Islamic Jihad said the fighters were shooting each other with Israeli troops in Jenin and Tulkarm.

With the latest deaths, a total of 34 Palestinians have died during the operation, many of whom are claimed to be members of armed factions including Hamas and Islamic Jihad but some have no clear relationship.

An Israeli soldier was killed in Jenin, while in a seemingly separate incident, three police officers were killed by a gunman who opened fire on their vehicle near Hebron in the southern West Bank.

Hundreds of Israeli soldiers backed by helicopters and drones have been operating in Jenin and Tulkarm as well as other areas in the West Bank over the past week in operations the military says are aimed at fighting Iran-backed militant groups.

The operation has caused severe damage to infrastructure as armored bulldozers have destroyed most city roads and destroyed or badly damaged houses and other buildings.

As operations go on, aid workers have begun warning people in the area are running out of food and water.

Specialist officer Murad Khamayseh of Jenin, who works with a disaster unit in the Palestinian Red Crescent, said his unit had distributed bread and water as well as milk, medical equipment, and diapers.
