Police Examine Former Lumajang Regent Thoriq Regarding Disaster Aid Budget

SURABAYA - Investigators of Sub-Directorate III of the East Java Police Ditreskrimsus examined the former Lumajang Regent Thoriqul Haq in Surabaya, regarding the alleged disaster management budget allocation procedure in the local district.

The former regent, who is familiarly called Thoriq, came driving a Toyota Innova to the Ditreskrimsus building of the East Java Police at around 14.30 and immediately entered and underwent an inside examination.

Dirkrimsus Polda Jatim Kombes Luthfie Sulistiawan said the investigation conducted on the National Awakening Party (PKB) politician was still in the early examination.

"Yes, it's still an initial investigation," said Luhtfie as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 3.

Meanwhile, Thoriq, who left the examination room at 18.15 WIB, admitted that he came to the East Java Regional Police for questioning regarding the alleged disaster management budget allocation procedure at the Lumajang Regency Government.

He was examined in relation to disaster relief funds and asked for clarification regarding assistance to Baznaz, scout, NJO, and several institutions.

Thoriq revealed that assistance for scouters even reached billions of rupiah.

"The assistance will be in 2022, the eruption will be in 2021," he said.

He revealed that there had been no reports regarding the assistance received, even the local government had not received the report.

At that time Thoriq served as a major or branch coach so that he was clarified in this regard.

"There are no calculations yet in discussion. Chat explains many things," he said.

He admitted that he asked to be examined in the afternoon and brought nothing, because it was only clarified.

"I didn't come here with anything, just a clarification and discussion," he said.
