KPK To Speed Up The Filing Of Suspect RJ Lino

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is trying to quickly settle the case of the former President Director of PT. Pelindo II Persero, Richard Joost Lino or RJ Lino. This is because the alleged corruption has stalled for five years.

"We will try to complete the filing of the case so that it can be immediately transferred to the Corruption Court," said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri in his written statement, Monday, March 29.

He also said that the anti-graft commission investigators would summon a number of witnesses. "Detention for 20 days will certainly be used to complete the case file, both formal and material requirements," said Ali.

Even if within 20 days it is not finished, the KPK will ask for more time to complete the filing. So, the resolution of this case is no longer stuck.

"The KPK certainly understands the expectations of the community regarding the settlement of cases that have been more than five years old," he said.

Previously reported, after being named a suspect regarding the procurement of three units of Quay Container Crane (QCC) at PT. Pelindo II since December 2015, RJ Lino was finally detained by the KPK on Friday, March 26.

He is suspected of directing the appointment of a company from China, namely HuaDong Heavy Machinery (HDHM) in the procurement of three QCC units at PT Pelindo II.

For his actions, RJ Lino was then suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.
