A Gang Of Fraudsters In Kelapa Gading Target Elderly Customers

JAKARTA The four fraudsters arrested by members of the Kelapa Gading Police, North Jakarta are a gang of bank customers. The target is an elderly man or woman who leaves the bank. This gang has acted 15 times in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

"This group consists of seven perpetrators and four perpetrators were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kelapa Gading Police and three perpetrators detained at the North Sumatra Police," said North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Gidion Arif Setyawan, Antara, Tuesday, September 3.

The four perpetrators arrested consisted of three men with the initials AS, SA, RSKT and DW. Meanwhile, three perpetrators were arrested by the North Sumatra Police, namely SA, RK and EY.

He said the arrests were made after three police reports were submitted to the Kelapa Gading Police.

"The Kelapa Gading Police are coordinating with the Dircrimum Polda Metro Jaya, the Dirkrimum Polda North Sumatra and the Dirkrimum Polda Riau in arresting the perpetrators," he said.

He said this group carried out a fraudulent act when the victim left the bank after taking some funds.

Previously, four syndicates of bank customers were arrested by the Kelapa Gading Police, North Jakarta. The police said that this syndicate acted across regions, Java, Sumatra and Bali.

Kelapa Gading Police Chief, Kompol Maulana Mukarom said the four perpetrators hypnotized their victims. Until finally the victim was unconscious, his property was drained by the perpetrators.

Maulana also explained that this syndicate had acted twice in the Kelapa Gading jurisdiction. Finally, said Maulana, they took action at Bank BRI Kelapa Gading, on August 16, at 13.30 WIB.

"The perpetrators are a syndicate of fraud with hypnotized mode," said Maulana, Tuesday, September 3.

When asked for more complete chronology, Maulana was reluctant to convey further because this afternoon, Tuesday, September 3, his party will hold a press conference at the Kelapa Gading Police Headquarters.

"Later, the Police Chief will release it at the Kelapa Gading Police, at 1 (in the afternoon)," he said.
