Viral Miras Oplosan "Es Moni" Sold Among Students, Police Intervene

KEDIRI - Kediri City Police managed to uncover a case of selling adulterated liquor (alcohol) known as "Es Moni", which went viral on social media. This drink is sold at a price of Rp. 10,000 per glass and is a favorite among underage students in Kediri Regency, East Java.

Moni ice is a liquor mixed with sugary condensed milk, supplements, and ice cubes. The seller, who is also the owner of a shop, has the initials SM (51), a resident of Cerme Hamlet, Grogol Village, Grogol District, Kediri Regency, has been arrested by the Kediri City Police Narcotics Unit and has been named a suspect.

"Es Moni is alcohol packaged in a mixture of milk, wine, supplement extract, and ice cubes. This drink has gone viral on social media because the suspect sold it under the name 'Es Moni' and uploaded it to social media, thus attracting the attention of young people, especially students," said Head of Narcotics Research Iptu Bowo Tri Kuncoro, Monday 2 September.

Bowo explained that the suspect sold the type of jowo wine mixed with various ingredients, so that physically it did not look like liquor in general. This mode makes Moni ice easy for students to accept, even though it actually contains alcohol.

As a result of his actions, the suspect SM was charged with multiple articles, namely the Consumer Protection Act and the Food Law, with a penalty of up to 5 years in prison.
