Strong Winds Hit Building In Bogor Collapsed, 2 People Died

BOGOR - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bogor Regency, West Java, reported a strong wind incident in Cimayang Village, Pamijahan, Bogor Regency, which killed 2 residents as a result of being hit by a collapsed building.

Head of the Bogor Regency BPBD Emergency and Logistics Division, M Adam Hamdani, revealed that the two victims were Pendi (45) and Wanto (40). Both died after being crushed by the rubble of a building.

"In addition to Pendi and Wanto, four other victims were injured. The total victims were six people. Currently, they have been taken to Leuwiliang Hospital," said Adam.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday (2/9) evening during the weather in most areas of Bogor Regency experiencing heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.

"The victims are in the handling of the ER, Suyoto, Iman Gojali, Tofik and Wiwaluyo," he said.

Meanwhile, the Emergency and Logistics Staff of the Bogor Regency BPBD, Jalaludin, explained that the six victims due to the strong wind disaster were warehouse workers for the construction of an ornamental fish cultivation pond.

When heavy rains accompanied by strong winds, the six workers were in the warehouse. Then, the warehouse collapsed due to the wind.

"Six workers were in the building to take shelter, then the building collapsed and hit six workers in it," said Jalal.
