Surrounded By Residents During CFD, Rano Karno: We Don't Campaign, But They Understand

JAKARTA - The candidate pair for Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, was approached by residents over and over while exercising in the car free day (CFD) Sudirman-Thamrin area.

Pramono-Rano and other candidate pairs have not been officially appointed as candidates for Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta. The campaign period has not yet started.

However, Rano emphasized that his visit to CFD was limited to socializing with the community.

He and Pramono also did not explain their vision and mission to the residents.

"We came here indeed to visit the community. We are not campaigning, we are not talking about vision and mission. But on average they understand, they know, that the DKI Pilkada must start immediately," said Rano in the HI Roundabout area, Jakarta, Sunday, September 1.

Meanwhile, Pramono said that he and Rano only asked for prayers and the blessing of the community to contest the 2024 Pilkada without an invitation to choose them.

Pramono admitted that he and Rano also listened to public complaints, especially access to transportation in Jakarta, which needed to be expanded.

"In Transjakarta they complained about the frequency when the clock was very low. The second complaint was about connectivity from Jakarta to South Tangerang, to Bekasi, it was also a separate problem," explained Pramono.

"Well, programs like this are thrill in the community, including requests from residents to extend the MRT to South Tangerang and to Bekasi, and that's what I think is a priority and we actually find it in the field," continued the Cabinet Secretary.

This morning, Pramono-Rano exercise together as well as greeting the people in the CFD Sudirman-Thamrin area. Pramono and Rano initially gathered at the Transjakarta Senayan Bus Stop, Bank DKI to take the Transjakarta to the Tosari Bus Stop.

The candidate pair who will be promoted by PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) in the Jakarta Pilkada started a pecel breakfast on Jalan Sumenep.

Then they began to move towards the HI Roundabout area.

Throughout the journey, Pramono-Rano stole the public's attention. The most common greeting by residents is the call of "Si Doel" attached to Rano Karno when he was an actor until now.

"Eh there's Si Doel!" exclaimed one resident.

"Bang Doel, Mas Pram, take a photo (together)," said another resident.

Before moving on to the next agenda, Pramono-Rano accidentally ran into Anies Baswedan in the Senayan area.
