Golkar Yogyakarta Focuses On Winning Pilkada And Adding Legislative Seats

YOGYAKARTA - The chairman of the Yogyakarta Golkar faction, R. Candra Akbar, emphasized that his party is targeting victory in the upcoming regional elections by winning the candidate for Mayor of Yogyakarta which was promoted by Golkar. Candra expressed Golkar's commitment to fight for the aspirations of the community and ensured that Golkar's vote was the voice of the people.

"Our short-term target is to win Golkar Party cadres as Mayor of Yogyakarta," said Candra in an explanation in Yogyakarta, Saturday, August 31 evening. According to him, this effort is in line with Golkar's long-term goal of maintaining and increasing the number of seats in the 2029 Legislative Election.

In the plenary session of the Yogyakarta City DPRD on August 29, 2024, the composition of the leadership of the Yogyakarta Golkar Faction was announced. R. Candra Akbar, this 31-year-old politician is trusted as the chairman of the faction, with Bambang Seno Baskoro as Deputy Chair, and Yogo Prasetyo Pri Hutomo as Secretary. Other faction members include Muhammad Affan and Munazar.

The appointment of Candra as Chair of the Yogyakar Golkar faction is the result of a long and consistent process within the party. Starting from the village, sub-district, to the city level, Candra shows dedication and hard work. "This is the result of the direction of seniors and elders of the Golkar Party," said Candra.

As a new face in the Yogyakarta City DPRD, Candra has succeeded in getting broad support from the community, especially in the electoral districts of Mergangsan, Kraton, and Mantrijeron. This is a significant achievement, especially for someone who has run for the first time. In the 2024 Legislative Election, Golkar won five seats in the Yogyakarta City DPRD, an increase in one seat from the previous election, ensuring a strong faction position.
