Jokowi Accused Of Jegal Anies Maju Pilkada, Democrat: There Is No Room For Cawe-cawe

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party responded to accusations against President Joko Widodo who was called the mastermind to tackle Anies Baswedan into the contestation of the Jakarta gubernatorial election or West Java gubernatorial election.

"We consider there is no room for fussyness," said Deputy of Bappilu DPP of the Democratic Party, Kamhar Lakumani to reporters, Friday, August 30.

Kamhar emphasized that the nomination of regional heads is entirely the authority of political parties. In addition, he said, the registration of regional elections was also determined by the General Elections Commission (KPU).

"After the registration of candidate pairs, both through the support route of political parties and individual channels, the ball is currently in the hands of the KPU," said Kamhar.

Previously, the Chairman of the West Java PDIP DPD Ono Surono revealed the reason behind the cancellation of Anies Baswedan running for the West Java Pilkada through his party. According to him, there were hands that did not approve of Anies being carried by PDIP in the West Java governor election.

"Anies is indeed an option for the PDI-P. And why failed? We face a very big challenge, hands that do not approve of Pak Anies are carried by the PDI-P," said Ono in Bandung, Thursday, August 29, evening.

Ono said Anies was considered the right figure for West Java. The former governor of DKI Jakarta, said Ono, is a national figure who is also originally a West Javanese born in Kuningan Regency. Anies, he said, had a good track record in building Jakarta.

However, PDIP finally registered the Jeje Wiradinata-Ronal Surapradja pair, which is an internal PDIP cadre, to the West Java KPU on Thursday night.

When asked, the party who tackled Anies, Ono mentioned Mulyono's name. "Mulyono and the gang," wrote Mulyono, "said Ono.

Ono then left a message to the figure he called Mulyono not to mess around in the 2024 Pilkada.

"Pak Mulyono doesn't have to mess around anymore in the Pilkada, let the people have the choice according to his conscience so that the best leader for Indonesia, for provinces, and for regencies/cities throughout Indonesia," said Ono.
