Anticipating Terror Actions, Majalengka Police Tightens Security In The Church

JAKARTA - The Majalengka Police have tightened security on churches and other vital objects for places of worship. Following the suicide bombing that took place at the Cathedral Church, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"We are on alert. There is this incident (terror bombing). Security will be further enhanced to anticipate all the possibilities that may occur," said Chief of Majalengka Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Adjutant Syamsul Huda, Sunday, March 28.

To that end, the Chief of Police immediately ordered its members, both from the Criminal Investigation Unit, the Sabhara Unit, the Traffic Police Unit, and the Intelligence Unit to anticipate actions that harm the community.

"The tightening of security is to provide a sense of security for all citizens," he said.

According to him, apart from policemen in official uniforms, there were also plainclothes on alert at a number of churches. Not only that, he continued, the members on guard were also equipped with rifles and other supporting equipment.

The police chief said that his party also conducted patrols at a number of crime-prone points to anticipate acts of crime and terror.

"We make sure all places in the jurisdiction of the Majalengka Police are safe," he said.
