KPU Receives Registration File For Edy Rahmayadi-Hasan Basri In North Sumatra Governor Election

The General Election Commission (KPU) of North Sumatra Province (North Sumatra) received a registration file for the candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi-Hasan Basri Sagala to take part in the 2024 Regional Election (Pilkada).

"Registration for the last day, we conveyed that at 16.00 WIB we received the arrival of a candidate pair for governor on behalf of Edy Rahmayadi and Hasan Basri Sagala, along with the leadership and secretary of the political party that carried the candidate pair," said North Sumatra KPU chairman Agus Arifin in Medan as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 29.

Agus said his party received registration and documents from the candidate pair. Then, he said the North Sumatra KPU checked the documents which were declared accepted.

"Furthermore, we will submit the receipt to the prospective candidate pairs Edy Rahmayadi and Hasan Basri Sagala," said Agus.

After registration was carried out by the couple Bobby Nasution and Surya and Edy Rahmayadi and Hasan Basri Sagala, he added that the next stage was a medical examination at Adam Malik Hospital, Medan from August 30 to September 2, 2024.

Separately, Edy said, after receiving registration by the North Sumatra KPU, his party would then conduct a medical examination at Adam Malik Hospital.

Edy said the essence of the vision and mission that will be campaigned later will focus on continuing five years in the leadership era to become governor. Such as education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, livestock and tourism.

Edy and Hasan were promoted by PDIP, Hanura, Labor Party, PKN, Ummat Party and Gelora Party.

Previously, the North Sumatra KPU received a registration file for the candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sumatra Bobby Nasution-Surya to take part in the 2024 Pilkada on Wednesday (28/8).

Bobby Nasution stepped forward in the North Sumatra Pilkada after declaring himself to join the Gerindra Party. Meanwhile, Surya is a cadre of the Golkar Party who now serves as the Regent of Asahan. In addition, it is supported by the Democratic Party, PAN, PKB, PKS, PPP, NasDem, to Perindo.
