The candidate for Governor of East Java who was promoted by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Tri Rismaharini made a pilgrimage to Sunan Bungkul's grave, in Surabaya, Thursday, before registering with the local General Election Commission (KPU).

The arrival of Risma, Tri Rismaharini's nickname, was welcomed by a number of PDI-P functionaries in Surabaya and East Java. Risma arrived at 15.40 WIB, and was greeted by the caretaker and descendants of Sunan Bungkul and immediately entered the tomb complex to make a pilgrimage and make tahlil.

Chairman of the Surabaya PDI-P DPC Adi Sutarwijono said his party had prepared an escort and field readiness to ensure Tri Rismaharini's visit went smoothly.

"We have prepared an escort and field readiness for Mrs. Risma's arrival in the City of Heroes. Of course, this city is no stranger to her because Mrs. Risma has led Surabaya for two terms," said Adi Sutarwijono as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 29.

Adi Sutarwijono said that the arrival of TriRismaharini in Surabaya this time will begin with a pilgrimage to the graves of elders and heroes. The goal is to absorb the spirit and spirit of the predecessors who have fought for Surabaya, so that they remain a city with a strong soul.

"It is hoped that Mrs. Risma and Gus Hans can absorb the spirit of the predecessors of Surabaya that needs to be maintained. Surabaya with a strong spirit will continue to support the development of a better East Java," he said.

Adi Sutarwijono assessed that the pilgrimage to the hero's grave was the right step to remind him of the noble values that became the basis for the nation's struggle.

He emphasized that TriRismaharini's track record in leading the city of Surabaya for 10 years has been known and appreciated by the residents of the capital city of East Java Province. Risma is considered a leader who is firm, clean, and pro-people.

Risma is planned to register with the East Java KPU with KH Zahrul Azhar Asumta or who is familiarly called Gus Hans, for the East Java regional head election (Pilkada) on Thursday (29/8) night.
