JAKARTA - PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) officially carries the pair Pramono Anung and Rano Karno to advance in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. It is planned that this couple will register with the Regional General Election Commission (KPUD) of Jakarta on Wednesday, August 28 at 11.00 WIB. This confirmation was delivered directly by PDIP General Treasurer Olly Dondokambey to reporters at the PDIP DPP Office, Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Jakarta, Tuesday 27 August 2024. "Pak Pram and Rano Karno tomorrow will register at 11 at KPUD Jakarta," said Olly. Olly explained that the registration would be carried out directly without any official announcement in advance, in contrast to the PDIP's habits in general. "There was no previous announcement. "Yesterday, Mr. Pramono was summoned by Mrs. Megawati and asked to run as a candidate for governor of Jakarta. After coordinating with several parties, Mr. Pramono was finally willing," said Olly.

According to Olly, Pramono had discussions with various parties, including his family, before finally deciding to move forward. One of the parties contacted by Pramono was his wife, who gave full support for the decision.
