Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, has warned any politician who intends to join the NasDem Party to only take advantage of his personal gain. This was revealed by Surya, who was again appointed as chairman at the III Congress of the NasDem Party at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) which was attended by thousands of cadres and party administrators. In my leadership in the future, one thing I have to emphasize to you. Stop the models in NasDem in such ways. Don't try to enter the party, get positions in the party, and even damage the party," said Surya, Tuesday, August 27. Surya also warned his current cadres to launch personal interests in running the wheels of the party organization as long as he still leads NasDem. "With all humility and apologies, I make sure not to try to get close to me with such a character. If you are unable to discipline yourself from now on, then the party will discipline yourself," explained Surya. On that occasion, Surya also forbade his cadres to interfere in the affairs of other political parties, even causing dynamics. "We don't need to interfere with the households of other parties. We don't have to interfere and comment on other parties. We take care of ourselves and prove that we are still there to build and defend the true values of Indonesianism," said Surya.

Surya emphasized that from the beginning NasDem was established to maintain the space that exists in the midst of vacuum and empty space so that the principles, beliefs, and ideals of the nation cannot be defeated by the interests of individuals and groups that lead to materialistics and power alone. "We don't need to claim ourselves as a fighting party. But one thing we assure. We are not hypocritical people who gather in the midst of the hustle and bustle of democracy that exists in this country, in the NasDem party," he concluded.
