The Great Coalition Promotes Afnan-Singgih As A Candidate For The Yogyakarta Regional Head Election

The 2024 Yogyakarta City Pilkada now officially has a candidate pair for Mayor and Deputy Mayor, namely Afnan Hadikusumo and Singgih Raharjo from the Pasti Pas pair. This pair is supported by a grand coalition consisting of seven parties: Golkar, Gerindra, PKS, PPP, PKB, PSI, and the Labor Party, and was also promoted by the Ummat Party.

The declaration of the Past Pas pair took place at the Poenokawan Building, Yogyakarta, on Tuesday (27/8/2024). The event was attended by representatives from their supporting parties and cadres.

Afnan Hadikusumo is a member of the DPD RI and a Muhammadiyah figure, while Singgih Raharjo is an experienced bureaucrat who has served as Acting Mayor of Yogyakarta.

The chairman of the Yogyakar City Golkar DPD, Agus Purnomo, opened the event with a statement, "By saying bismillahirrohmanirrohim, we party leaders in Jogja City express support and carry Mr. Muh. Afnan Hadikusumo and Singgih Raharjo as candidates for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Yogyakarta in the 2024 Pilkada."

Agus Purnomo continued, "We call this couple 'Pas Pasti Pas' with the tagline 'Sejati'."

Afnan Hadikusumo welcomed the support from various parties, which he considered an advantage in his candidacy. "We realize that each party has a different vision. We will combine the vision and mission of each party in our work program," said Afnan after the declaration.

Afnan is determined to make the previous mayor's achievements an inspiration in his leadership later. "We will continue the good advice from the previous mayor and avoid things that don't work," he said.

According to Afnan, the city of Jogja requires leadership that reflects local values such as gotong royong and tepo sliro. "With areas that are not too wide and people who are heterogeneous, we will create a clean and serving government well," he explained.

Afnan added, "We are committed to providing better services so that the people of Yogyakarta can feel happy. A clean and good government will make residents happy and satisfied."
