PDIP Gives A Signal To Announce Champions In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election Ahead Of Closed Registration

JAKARTA - PDIP DPP chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat said the opportunity to announce regional head candidates during the last opportunity for registration to the General Elections Commission (KPU) was open. Especially for the provinces of Jakarta, East Java and West Java.

"On the 28th (August, ed) can you do it, on the 29th of the morning or not? Especially for areas that can register directly, can you? Yes," Djarot told reporters at the PDIP DPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, August 26.

For information, the registration of regional head candidates to the Regional General Election Commission (KPUD) will be opened from August 27 to August 29, 2024, no later than 23.59 local time. Referring to this, Djarot said, his party still has time to announce the candidate he is carrying.

"For example, he announced the fourth batch on August 29, we will announce it at 10 o'clock, can you register it? The administration is easy, the most important thing is whether there is B1KWK or not," said the former governor of Jakarta.

Previously reported, PDIP was widely heard that it would nominate Anies Baswedan as a candidate for governor in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. He is planned to duet Rano Karno, who is a cadre of the party made by Megawati Soekarnoputri.

However, Anies-Rano was not included in the candidate pair for regional head who received the recommendation and was announced on Monday, August 26. PDIP only announced six candidates for governor and deputy as well as dozens of regent/mayor candidates.

Among those announced were Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi who ran in the Central Java gubernatorial election and Airin Rachmi Diany-Ade Sumardi to run in the Banten gubernatorial election.
