Praised By Jokowi, Clean Water For Bandarlampung SPAM Production Is Cleaner Than Packaging Water

BANDARLAMPUNG - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the water produced by the Bandarlampung City Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) is very clean. "I saw earlier, the water was very clean," he said after inaugurating the Bandarlampung SPAM, in Relung Badminton Village, South Lampung Regency, Lampung Province, Antara, Monday, August 26. In fact, Jokowi continued, as stated by the Director General of Human Settlements Diana Kusumastuti, the water produced by the Bandarlampung SPAM is better and cleaner than bottled water because the NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Unit) is 0.278. "In fact, the standard of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) is 3, if the bottled water is 0.8, it will be better (SPAM) Bandarlampung)," he said. This Bandarlampung SPAM will serve approximately 60 thousand households in eight sub-districts in Bandarlampung City. "This SPAM was built with a non-small budget of IDR 1.38 trillion, with the Government Cooperation with Business Entity (PPP) scheme," he said. Therefore, President Jokowi asked the Regional Government (Pemda) to encourage and increase the installation of household connections. "I entrust this (SPAM) Badarlampung, the Mayor, the Regent, so that the connection to the household is really encouraged, so that more and more households have connections from the SPAM we built," he said.

During this working visit to Lampung Province, President Jokowi visited the Margatiga Dam in East Lampung, inaugurating the Gintung Pasir Market in Bandarlampung and the Bandarlampung Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) project in South Lampung.
