JAKARTA - Major, the German Shepherd owned by the President of the United States Joe Biden, who had attracted public attention, returned to the White House, Washington, after participating in 'training' as First Dog, referring to his status as the pet of the President of the United States, along with Champ.
Unlike Champ, who was accustomed to crowds, when accompanying Joe Biden when he was still the Vice President of the United States. The major was unfamiliar with the situation in Washington, including the protocol and the many people he didn't know.
"Champ and Major are here at the White House," said White House spokesman Jen Psaki at a briefing Wednesday, March 24, reported Reuters.
Psaki said the dogs joined Joe Biden at the Camp David presidential resting place near Thurmont, Maryland, over the weekend and returned to the White House with them on Sunday.
"Dogs will come and go, and it's not uncommon for them to come back to Delaware every once in a while," he added.
Previously reported, the Major was said to have behaved aggressively, barking and biting White House staff, before finally being sent home last week from the White House, Washington DC in the first week of March.
However, Joe Biden said his dog was not sent home from the White House. The dog, which he said still needed adaptation to the "crowd" at the White House, was said to be in training.
"The major does not bite a person and pierce his skin," Biden told ABC's 'Good Morning America' program which aired Wednesday 17 March.
"You turn a corner and there are two people you don't know at all and they move. And he (Major) is moving to protect," added Biden, referring to the US Secret Service and other staff his German Shepherd dog encountered at the White House.

President Joe Biden adopted the Major in 2018 from the Delaware Humane Society to join his other German Shepherd, Champ. Unlike Major, Champ was familiar with Washington's life. Biden won the Champ in 2008, the year he was elected vice president under President Barack Obama.
"He's a cute dog. Eighty-five percent of the people there love him. All he does is lick and wag his tail," said Biden, who moved to the White House with his two dogs after being sworn in on January 20.
