PDIP Affirms No Exclusive Figures In The 2024 Pilkada

JAKARTA The spokesman for the PDI-P, Aryo Seno, revealed that his party will continue to take into account the upcoming 2029 Presidential Election factor before deciding on regional head candidates in the Jakarta Pilkada.

According to him, the General Chairperson of the PDI-P DPP, Megawati Soekarnoputri, continued to prioritize a quantitative and qualitative approach before determining the candidates to be promoted in the 2024 Pilkada, including Jakarta.

I think it's very clear that there are at least two reasons that we use in dealing with the regional elections. One quantitative reasoning means that the survey methodology as an electoral basis for reading the map is used to map names. But there is also a qualitative reasoning about variables related to the similarities of concern in the long term, "said Seno, Sunday, August 25, 2024.

These things, he continued, are used to observe conditions in various regions, including Jakarta considering that Jakarta is the center of national politics and can be a political reason for the 2029 presidential election. "So of course we have to be careful, quantitative and qualitative reasoning we use before deciding who to carry," he added.

Especially in the Jakarta Pilkada, the PDI-P is also still mitigating if it carries Anies Baswedan. Seno stated that his party continues to carry out simulations and political calculations related to the similarities and differences that exist between the PDI-P and Anies Baswedan.

"Is there a dynamic, are there certain differences that we must mitigate. That is why the PDIP DPP has yet to announce related to several strategic provinces including Jakarta," he said.

He also hopes that all external candidates promoted by the PDI-P in the 2024 Pilkada, including Anies Baswedan, respect the mechanism that has been running in the party. Although it is said that they have common awareness to fight dynastic politics, Anies still has to respect the political procedures of the PDI-P in elections and regional elections.

"Whoever is a figure who intends to fight together with the PDI-P, he should respect the political procedures that exist in the PDI-P. That applies once again, it is not exclusive to Mas Anies Baswedan, so for all other parties in other regions who are interested in us, yes, follow these rules," concluded Seno.
