Megawati Always Prioritizes Cadres, Support For Anies Still Signs Tanya

JAKARTA The PDI-P support for Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada is said to be still a question mark even though Anies is already friendly with the DKI Jakarta PDI-P DPD.

This is because Megawati Soekarnoputri is a figure who is the head of a political party who always prioritizes her cadres to run in election contestation. Therefore, Anies is considered necessary to meet Megawati directly to discuss opportunities for PDIP support in the Jakarta Pilkada.

"Why do I say it's not necessarily Anies? Keep in mind, Mrs. Mega is a person who always prioritizes his cadres. Losing doesn't even matter, so it seems that Mrs. Mega wants Anies to be carried by the PDI-P first," explained a political observer, Hendri Satrio, Sunday, August 25, 2024.

According to him, Anies could reflect on the situation of Edy Rahmayadi in the North Sumatra Pilkada, where the incumbent governor was promoted by the PDI-P after deciding to join as a political party cadre led by Megawati.

"Edy immediately joined as a cadre, so that his recommendation quickly dropped. If Anies wants to be promoted, maybe he can do the same thing," added Hensat.

The founder of the KedaiKOPI Survey Institute revealed that the PDI-P opportunity to carry its own cadres in the Jakarta Pilkada is still very large. The reason is, they have a number of cadres who can be taken into account in the Jakarta Pilkada.

"There is Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, there is Rano Karno, even internal rumors mention the name of the Minister of PAN/RB Azwar Anas," said Hensat.
