JAKARTA - Documents/letters of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) circulating on social media with the contents that the Regent of Situbondo Karna Suswandi was named a suspect on suspicion of gratification corruption.

When confirmed via text message, KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika Sugiarto stated that he could not confirm the truth of the letter.

"So, I can't confirm or not confirm the letters circulating outside. We'll just have to wait," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika Sugiarto as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, August 24.

The KPK letter, which was widely circulated on social media (whatsApp) and other social media applications, was addressed to the Head of the Bondowoso BPN Office, East Java, for land data and information requests.

The request for land data and information is for the benefit of KPK investigators because they are investigating cases of alleged corruption in the form of gifts or promises made by Karna Suswan (Bupati Situbondo) and Head of Binamarga of the Situbondo PUPP Service Eko Prionggo Jati (now Head of the Situbondo PUPP Service).

The spokesman for the anti-corruption agency confirmed that his party had not yet received an explanation from the relevant officials.
