JAKARTA - Jakarta gubernatorial candidate M Ridwan Kamil or Bang Emil said he was ready to fight three or whatever candidate pairs in the Jakarta Pilkada and was optimistic about winning the five-year contestation. Bang Emil admitted that he had a lot of experience in participating in political contestations as regional head because he had been Mayor of Bandung and Governor of West Java. According to him, when running for Mayor of Bandung, there were eight pairs of candidates who participated in the elections at that time and he won the political contestation. In addition, in the West Java gubernatorial election, Bang Emil also faced three other pairs of candidates, there was even a retired general who participated in the contestation. A total of 12 political parties officially signed a support charter to carry Ridwan Kamil-Suswono as a candidate pair in the 2024 Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor Election on Monday, August 18. The parties are the Gerindra Party, the Golkar Party, the Prosperous Justice Party, the NasDem Party, the National Awakening Party, the Indonesian Solidarity Party, the Democratic Party, the National Mandate Party, the Garuda Party, the Gelora Party, the Perindo Party and the United Development Party. They stated that the 12 political parties are members of the New Jakarta Coalition for Advanced Jakarta.
