Fire Devoured 18.19 Hectares Of Land In 2 Regencies Of East Java

JAKARTA - The fire devoured an area of 18.19 ha in East Java Province, on Wednesday 21 August. The hotspots are located in two districts, namely Bondowoso Regency and Situbondo Regency. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by law enforcement officials. "As for the losses, 12 hectares of land burned in Bondowoso Regency and 6.19 hectares of burned land in Situbondo Regency," said the Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari, Friday 23 August.

BPBD Bondowoso Regency and Situbondo Regency have coordinated with Perhutani, Forest Police and related elements for handling and extinguishing fires in their respective areas. The latest condition is that the fire in the Situbondo Regency area has been successfully extinguished at another location. BPBD Bondowoso Regency Together with related elements are still trying to extinguish the fire at the scene.
