Defense Minister Prabowo Received A Visit From The Turkish Defense Minister

Deputy Minister of Defense M. Herindra inspected the troops with Turkish Defense Minister Yapriyaar Göler (running at a ceremony lined up troops in the courtyard of the Ministry of Defense /ANTARA / Tenri Center Mawangi office.

JAKARTA - Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto received a visit from the Turkish Defense Minister Ya calmar Göler at the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) Office, Jakarta.

Prabowo and Göler chatted for approximately an hour discussing issues about defense and security, as well as exploring opportunities to expand cooperation in other sectors beyond defense.

But the Ministry of Defense and the Turkish Ministry of Defense did not explain in more detail the results of the meeting between Prabowo and Göler which took place behind closed doors.

Göler visited Indonesia after visiting Malaysia first to meet with officials in the defense sector in the country. The Turkish Defense Minister arrived in Jakarta, Wednesday (21/8), and his arrival in Jakarta was welcomed by Plt. Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense Donny Ermawan Taufanto.

The two of them talked for almost an hour, and then when the guest was about to go home, Prabowo escorted Göler to his vehicle waiting right in the backyard of the Ministry of Defense's main building.

Indonesia is currently targeting several Turkish-made defense equipment, including drone and Atmaca missiles. The Ministry of Defense has so far not announced the purchase of the defense equipment.

Prabowo last month visited Ankara, Turkey, and met Turkish President Reccep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish Defense Minister, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. He also visited Istanbul and saw firsthand several drones made by Baykar Turkey at the National Technology Center Badminton Bayraktar.
