Muhaimin Responds To Allegations Of Personal Conflict With The Minister Of Religion: The Hajj Special Committee Has Nothing To Do With PKB And NU

JAKARTA - PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar responded to a statement from PBNU regarding the alleged personal conflict with Minister of Religion Cholil Qoumas following the formation of the Hajj Special Committee.

"Yes, once again, I hope that PBNU learns the constitution. Because the special committee has nothing to do with PKB. It doesn't matter with NU. That's a matter of implementing the law, implementing the control that the DPR has rights. Yes, I'm concerned, PBNU must learn the constitution again," said Muhaimin to reporters at Widya Chandra, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 21.

The DPR's Hajj Special Committee is led by Nusron Wahid. There are three scopes that are the focus of his party's problems in carrying out the supervisory function of the government's policy of organizing Hajj.

"What we have agreed on earlier has three scopes," said Nusron when met after attending the DPR Hajj Questionnaire Special Committee meeting, Monday, August 19.

First, Nusron said that his party would investigate allegations of abuse of the authority of the Minister of Religion in terms of allocating additional hajj quotas.

"What should be used for regularity, (but) is used for special Hajj pilgrims," he said.

The second scope, he said, is a matter of Hajj operational management. Starting from, the recruitment of human resources to service and the level of satisfaction of the congregation.

The third scope, he continued, is improving the hajj financial system.

"How is the management of the Hajj financial system that is transparent, accountable, and guarantees risk management and risk mitigation," he said.
