Kun Wardana Cawagub Dharma Porengkun Ever Called KPK Regarding Corruption In PPE Procurement

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) apparently summoned Kun Wardana, who is a candidate for deputy governor (cawagub) Dharma Porengkun in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. He was once asked to go to the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta as a witness to allegations of corruption in the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes).

Based on the search, Kun Wardana was summoned by investigators on Wednesday, January 31. He was asked to be present before investigators in his capacity as Director of PT Energi Kita Indonesia (EKI).

Apart from Kun, the KPK also summoned Ahmad Taufik who was the President Director of PT Permana Putra Mandiri and an advocate named Magda Widjajana at that time.

The KPK spokesman, Tessa Mahardika, agreed to the summons. "It's true, brother KW was summoned on January 31 but the person concerned was not present to fulfill the investigator's summons," he said when confirmed via a short message Tuesday night, August 20.

The names of the candidate pairs for governor and deputy governor candidate for Jakarta from an independent route, Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardana, were in the spotlight. This is because both of them are suspected of using the population identification number (NIK) of identity cards (KTP) to register.

Even so, the Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU) has stated that the Dharma-Kun pair passed the factual verification. This pair can register their candidacy to run in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

"Stating that Pak Dharma and Kun Wardana meet the requirements to register as individual candidates in the upcoming governor election," said Jakarta KPU Chairman Wahyu Dinata on August 15.

Meanwhile, the KPK has named three suspects in the corruption case in the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes). The investigation has been carried out since September 2023.

In addition, there were eight people who were prevented from leaving the country in this case. They are Budi Badminton as the state civil apparatus (ASN) at the Ministry of Health, Hermansyah who is an ASN from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Satrio Wibowo and Ahmad Taufik as private sector, and A. Isdar Yusuf as advocates.

Furthermore, last June also prevented SLN, a doctor and two private parties, namely ET and AM. The KPK said the amount of state losses in this case reached Rp. 300 billion with a project value of Rp. 3.03 trillion for the procurement of 5 million PPE packages.
