Aburizal Bakrie's Message To The New Chairman: Please Learn The Constitutional Court's Decision, Negotiate To Win Many Golkars In The Regional Head Election

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party Board of Trustees Aburizal Bakrie gave a special message to the new general chairman to be appointed at the Golkar XI National Conference, to study the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which changed the threshold rules for nominating regional heads in the regional elections.

According to Aburizal, the new chairman of Golkar needs to negotiate so that the party bearing the banyan tree can win the 2024 Pilkada in many regions.

This was said by Aburizal when delivering his views after the reading of the Golkar Party's Management Accountability Report for the 2019-2024 period.

As is known, the Golkar Party National Conference will soon appoint Bahlil Lahadalia as the definitive chairman. Bahlil himself is the sole caketum at the Golkar Party's XI National Conference which will be held on August 20-21.

"I would like to advise the new general chairman regarding one decision from the Constitutional Court which was made today. The decision of the Constitutional Court will cause parties including the Golkar party to nominate themselves. Now, please study this and ask the general chairman and future administrators to do, one, listen well to proposals from the regions, foster, then make negotiations so that the Golkar Party won the most in the upcoming regional elections," Aburizal said in his remarks.

Of course, continued Aburizal, Golkar must negotiate with the Forward Indonesia Coalition. The former chairman of Golkar asked all Golkar administrators at the central and regional levels to try to fight for their cadres to advance in the Pilkada. "However, we hope that we or the next management can defend the Golkar Party desperately by making good negotiations," said Aburizal. "I think with good understanding and negotiations we can succeed even better in the future," he added.
