4 People Treated With Intensive Imbas Oil Well Fire, Aceh Tamiang Police Ask For Vendor Information

ACEH - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Aceh Tamiang Resort Police (Polres) investigated the fire of an oil well belonging to Pertamina in Bukit Tempurung, Kuala Simpang City District, Aceh Tamiang Regency. Aceh Tamiang Police Chief AKBP Muliadi said the investigation was carried out to find the cause of the fire that caused four victims who are now being treated intensively in the hospital. "The police are investigating the oil well fire that caused four people to be hospitalized because they suffered burns. An investigation is to determine the cause of the Pertamina oil well fire," Muliadi said in Aceh Tamiang, Antara, Tuesday, August 20. Meanwhile, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Aceh Tamiang Police, AKP Rifki Muslim, said that his party would ask for information from PT Arjuna Asia Petrocom Services, as the vendor for drilling the oil well. "The request for information includes standard operating procedures or SOPs, including technical matters that caused the oil well fire," Rifki Muslim said. His party has not been able to mention the initial suspicion of the cause of the oil well fire. It is suspected that the cause of the fire could only be known after the results of a thorough investigation. "The cause of the fire can only be concluded after there is an investigation result. Wait for the results of the investigation and the processing of the crime scene and the statements of the related parties. We also urge you not to approach the burning oil well in order to avoid unwanted things," said Rifki Muslim. Previously, the oil well drilling platform exploded and caught fire on Saturday (17/8) at around 14.00 WIB. The fire was thought to have started with a burst of oil from the well, then an explosion was heard until the flames appeared. The fire began to appear at 14:10 WIB when it entered a series of dredging work to clean the production tube after the revocation of the ESP pump. Officers from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Aceh Tamiang Regency, Pertamina I firefighters assisted by TNI and Polri personnel extinguished the fire from the well. The fire was successfully extinguished on the same day at around 14:54 WIB.

The incident caused four people to suffer burns. The victims were oil well drilling workers, namely Arfansyah Putra, Irfan Syahputra, Muhadi, and Koko Agus Daryanto.
