Golkar Make Sure Bahlil Becomes A Single Candidate For Chairman In National Conference

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party has confirmed that its cadre, Bahlil Lahadalia, will be the sole candidate in the election for the General Chair of the Golkar Party which will be held at the XI National Conference (Munas) of the Golkar Party.

The head of the Golkar Party's XI National Conference Director, Adies Kadir, said that during the registration process, there were two people who registered, namely Ridwan Hisjam and Bahlil Lahadalia. However, from the verification of the files carried out, according to him, only Bahlil was declared qualified.

"The prospective registration file for the candidate on behalf of Bahlil Lahadalia is declared complete and meets the requirements as a candidate for chairman at the Golkar Party's XI National Conference in 2024," said Adies at the Golkar Party DPP office as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 19.

He said Ridwan Hisjam's registration was declared unsuccessful because he did not meet the requirements.

According to him, of the seven requirements to become a candidate for chairman, Ridwan did not fulfill two points, one of which was a letter of support.

Furthermore, Bahlil who is declared qualified will explain his vision and mission during the implementation of the National Conference in front of representatives of Golkar administrators from the regions. So far, according to him, Bahlil has received 83 percent support from all voters in the Golkar Party.

With only Bahlil as the sole candidate, according to him, the election process can take place in an acclamation or not, because it will depend on the voters at the XI National Conference.

"We'll see tomorrow the general views of the voters, what their opinions are, so we'll wait for tomorrow," he said.
