Police Arrest Rape Siswi SMA In West Bandung

The police arrested a young man with the initials RSA (20) suspected of kidnapping a minor on Saturday, August 17 in Bandung Regency, West Java (West Java).

The Head of Cimahi Police, AKBP Tri Suharto, said that the case began with a report from the victim's parents on August 18, 2024.

"The victim was a 16-year-old girl who attended a private high school in West Bandung," said Tri in Cimahi, Monday, August 19, which was confiscated by Antara.

Tri explained that the perpetrator and the victim had known each other since five months ago through social media. Furthermore, RSA continues to persuade the victim to communicate through a short message application.

"Then they often communicate via WA (WhatsApp), the perpetrator approaches the victim, then on 17 (August), the victim is visited by the perpetrator. Without the victim's parents being taken, their cellphones (victims) are turned off," said Tri.

He said the perpetrators were successfully secured in the Bekasi area for less than 24 hours. From the results of the examination, he said, the victim was forcibly taken by the perpetrators to two apartments located in Bandung and Bekasi.

"The perpetrator and the victim had moved from the apartment that was rented daily. When the victim was taken away by the perpetrator, there was indeed sexual abuse. At the time he was taken he was threatened, if he didn't obey what he wanted, his family would be stopped later," he said.

According to the Police Chief, the suspect's actions were charged with Article 81 of Law (UU) Number 17 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning child protection, with a maximum imprisonment of 15 years.
