Tonight Bahlil Will Take The Golkar Chairman's List Form

JAKARTA - Bahlil Lahadalia, who has just been inaugurated as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), stated that he is ready to take a form to apply as General Chair of the Golkar Party, Monday, August 19 evening.

This was conveyed by Bahlil when giving information after President Joko Widodo inaugurated a number of ministers and deputy ministers at the State Palace in Jakarta, Monday, August 19.

"Later tonight. Take a form. Don't register (only take) a form," Bahlil told the media crew when asked when to take the general chairman's registration form, confiscated by Antara.

Bahlil said he would take the registration form for the General Chair of the Golkar Party on Monday night.

When asked further about the potential to become the General Chair of Golkar, he admitted that he had surrendered to Allah SWT.

"Wallahu a'lam bishawab," said Bahlil.

Before the inauguration, Bahlil also mentioned the atmosphere at the State Palace which was busy with journalists.

Bahlil said the atmosphere was like the Golkar Party National Conference which will be held on Tuesday (20/8).

"Yes, that's normal. This is the inauguration of this minister, not this National Conference," said Bahlil.

On the sidelines of the inauguration, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto and Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita satirized Bahlil Lahadalia who was said to be the next General Chair of the Golkar Party.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga had mentioned Bahlil who was inaugurated three times when ministers one by one congratulated Bahlil. At that moment, Bahlil had just been appointed as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) at the State Palace in Jakarta, Monday.

"Congratulations, three times inducted. The inauguration is three times," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga while holding Bahlil's hand and kissing Bahlil's right-left cheek.

As is known, Bahlil Lahadalia previously served as Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). On Monday, he was re-inducted as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), replacing Arifin Tasrif.

Bahlil is said to be the General Chair of Golkar after the 11th National Conference (Munas) of the Golkar Party which will be held on Tuesday, August 20.
