SMRC Survey: If The Jakarta Pilkada Is Held Today, PKS-PKB-NasDem Voters Choose Anies

JAKARTA - Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) published a new survey stating that the majority of voters from PKS, Nasdem and PKB are still choosing Anies Baswedan if the Jakarta Pilkada is being held now.

Executive Director of SMRC Deni Irvani explained, through a survey entitled "Prospective Governor-Prospective Opportunities in the Jakarta Provincial Election", his party noted that Anies received 94 percent of the votes from PKS voters, far superior to Ridwan Kamil (RK) who only received five percent of the votes.

"For Nasdem voters, Anies is 76 percent, far above RK 22 percent. For PKB voters, Anies is also far ahead of 73 percent against RK who only gets 17 percent support," he said in a written statement, Sunday, August 18, which was confiscated by Antara.

Deni noted that RK looked superior to Anies in PSI (93 percent), Gerindra (71 percent) and Golkar (52 percent) voters.

The Democrat voters were divided against Anies (46 percent) and RK (43 percent).

Furthermore, the majority of PDI-P voters have not yet determined (53 percent), but those who choose RK (39 percent) are more than Anies (8 percent).

Furthermore, Deni stated a variety of support for Anies and RK according to demographics.

He said Anies tended to be superior to RK in male voters, gen-Z, elementary and college education, Muslims, Betawi ethnicity and blue collar workers.

"Meanwhile, RK tends to excel in the Sundanese ethnic group and women's household professions. Competition is very tight in women voters, the boomer generation (elderly), SLTA education, and white collar workers," he said.

The SMRC survey was conducted using the double sampling method in an interview conducted August 8-12 2024.

A sample of 500 respondents was randomly selected from the database of the previous face-to-face survey sample conducted by SMRC with a proportional number according to the district/city to represent Jakarta voters.

To get a proportional sample from respondents who have the phone against the characteristics of the Jakarta population, the institution made a weighting of selected samples.

The survey's tolerance or margin of error is estimated at 4.5 percent at a 95 percent confidence level, a simple random sampling assumption (simple random sampling).

Ridwan Kamil himself is likely to be carried by the Forward Indonesia/KIM Coalition consisting of the Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, Democrat and PSI parties in the Jakarta Pilkada.
